Montenegro is one of the hottest MICE tourism destinations in the Balkans. Whether you want to hike, mountain bike or ski, there are plenty of lakes, mountains and national parks to explore. The UNESCO World Heritage Tara Canyon with a depth of 1300 m is the deepest canyon in Europe. The Tara River offers superb opportunities for kayaking and white water rafting, including through the virgin forests around Mojkovac, where there are also hiking trails. Snow cover is good until April and you will find some of the cheapest ski resorts in Europe in Montenegro.
If sailing is your thing, Montenegro will blow you away. Charter a luxury yacht and enjoy a short sail along the coast visiting the UNESCO-listed ports of Kotor, Herceg, Ulcinj and Bar. The coastline is rugged, with numerous islands and inlets, and mountains which come right down to the waterfront. The beaches are pristine and the largest beaches stretch many kilometres in length.

The Bay of Kotor
The Bay of Kotor, the southern-most fjord of the Mediterranean, is simply breathtaking. Surrounded by cliffs and meandering straits, it is divided into four smaller bays: Herceg Novi, Risan, Kotor, and Tivat. It resembles a shell filled with charming villages with rich traditions and culture. You can explore this landscape of mountain peaks, clear waters, rocky coastline and pretty villages by boat or car.
Ada Bojana
Between the Bojana River and the Adriatic Sea, just 15 km from Ulcinj, lies an island paradise renowned globally for its nudist village and pristine natural surroundings. Despite being in the Mediterranean, Ada Bojana boasts a subtropical climate, a unique eco-system and spectacular sunsets. The island is an ideal spot for camping, kite-surfing, water sports, or simply relaxing in nature.
Lipa Cave
Just a stone’s throw from Cetinje, beneath the Belvedere viewpoint overlooking the Lake Skadar valley, lies the Lipa Cave. A fascinating gallery of underground halls with exceptional speleological value, the explored corridors stretch approximately 2,500 meters. Inside, you’ll find theaters and galleries adorned with a wealth of cave formations. Underground watercourses, lakes, and springs enhance the cave’s natural beauty.
Savina Winery
Nestled on the slopes of Mount Savina, overlooking the renowned Savina Monastery and the Old Town of Herceg Novi, the Obradovic family has crafted one of Montenegro’s best boutique wineries. The sun-kissed vineyard still gives grapes today, as they used to in the 18th century, from which, in French oak barrels, matures one of the finest Montenegrin wines.
Tivat Saline
The Tivatska Solila Botanical Park, situated on the grounds of former salt pans, is a unique natural bird sanctuary. Visitors flock to this destination to see graceful birds such as pink flamingos and Javanese cormorants. Notably, the park won an award as one of the top 100 Sustainable Destinations in 2020 from Green Destinations, underscoring its commitment to ecological preservation and sustainable tourism.
Lustica Peninsula
At the entrance of the Bay of Kotor, the Lustica Peninsula has an unrivalled view of the open sea and the Tivat and Herceg Novi bays. This picturesque land boasts green hills, olive groves, wooded areas, and paths leading to the coast. Ideal for those seeking to escape the crowds and immerse themselves in traditional Mediterranean Riviera life. Some of the must-do experiences include a small boat tour of the Blue Cave grotto, relaxing on Zanjice beach, and visits to Mamula island and the picturesque village of Rose.
Old Town Budva and Citadel Fortress
Budva’s Old Town is the most charming part of the city, full of history and attracting many visitors. Encircled by a fortress wall, it’s a lively and fun place to explore. The Citadel, or Keep of St Mary, is the medieval heart of the town, housing a maritime museum and a library. Climb its steep stairs for panoramic views of Budva and the sea.
