Best nightlife:  There are plenty of watering hotels with 6 bars, Vibes Sports Bar offering live music and the Encore nightclub to dance the night away. There are also many restaurant choices and spectacular venues for private group dinners.

Best time to visit: Sun City is an all-year destination with most days having clear blue skies. During the winter months of April to September, you’ll have bone-dry sunny days, it’s less crowded and game viewing is better but you will experience cold nights in June and July. October to March you can experience afternoon thunderstorms and hot days. Avoid the South African school holidays and especially the Xmas/New Year period when the resort is packed with local families.

Top Tip:  Combining the mother city of Cape Town (a 2-hour flight from Johannesburg) with a few nights at Sun City makes for the perfect South African getaway. Also visit during the Nedbank Golf Challenge in November or December each year as the atmosphere is electric and Sun City is rocking. The world’s top golfers compete for a first prize of $2,5 million.
