Victoria Falls was discovered by the explorer, David Livingstone, who said “Scenes as lovely as these must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight”. The falls are also known locally as Mosi-oa-tunya, which means “the smoke that thunders”. They are located between the towns of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Livingstone in Zambia, which are connected by the Vic Falls Bridge that spans the Zambezi River below.
