Puerto Rico is very much in demand as a destination for major association meetings, corporate conferences and events. With over 60 years experience, Destination Puerto Rico is the preferred DMC operating in Puerto Rico and recently organized another fun, creative corporate event.

The Bacardi Rum Distillery in Puerto Rico is the largest in the world and produces 85% of Bacardi rum consumed worldwide. Since Bacardi’s history is closely tied to the prohibition era in the USA, Destination Puerto Rico organized a fun and unique themed cocktail reception and dinner event at the ‘bat pavilion’ on the beautifully manicured grounds of the Distillery.

The theme was a celebration of the end of the prohibition and featured 1920’s décor and entertainment.  In the hotel lobby, we had a ‘newspaper boy’ handing out newspapers announcing “Read all about it! Prohibition has ended!” At Bacardi Distillery, we transformed a restaurant space into a ‘speakeasy’. Entertainment included singers and band players dressed in period costumes. Guests were given accessories to wear such as feather boas, fedora-style hats, suspenders, long cigarette holders and other accessories.

Guests also enjoyed tastings of Bacardi’s specialty and reserve rums and Bacardi’s Master Blender welcomed guests and spoke about the history of the brand.  Bacardi’s top management team was thrilled with the event and paid us a visit as this was the first event of it’s kind held at the facility. To cap off the event, guests were presented with bottles of Bacardi’s special reserve which were etched with the names of the recipients – a truly unique gift!
