Eclipse at Half Moon Resort

Half Moon, the Caribbean’s most iconic resort in Jamaica, celebrated 65 years with the recent unveiling of the new Eclipse Resort. Framed by the glistening Caribbean Sea to the north and lush hillsides to the south, Eclipse at Half Moon is one of the most luxurious additions to the Caribbean in a generation. Miss T’s Diner at Murphy Hill

Chef Anna Kay Tomlinson, affectionately known as Miss T, created a cozy ambiance for private lunches and dinners that pays homage to the typical Jamaican zinc roofed board house and singular stylings of the island. Colorful paintings, vintage Marley photos, hanging gourd, wicker lamps and musical instruments adorn the walls. Starters include tasty innovations on Jamaican classics like stamp-and-go (saltfish fritters), crab backs paired with fruit salsa, oxtail sliders served on mini cocoa bread, as well as curried ackee dubbed “Jah Know”.

For a spicy take on ceviche, try the “Pick-up Saltfish”. Main courses from”Unda the Sea” include creamy coconut curry lobster, “Yardie Favorites” like BBQ fried chicken or trout, curried goat, jerk chicken and the signature house dish, Miss T’s Famous Oxtail. Wash it all down with freshly-squeezed limeade or a cold Red Stripe beer and you’ll be ready for dessert. This restaurant has been replicated and enhanced at Murphy Hill. You will journey up to Ocho Rios’ highest viewpoint, Murphy Hill, which sits 2 000 feet above sea level, from where you can marvel at awe-inspiring views of the town, the Blue Mountains and, even, on a clear day, the neighboring island of Cuba. Pass through small villages, where you can learn the history of old churches and see colorful native marketplaces. This location coupled with a delectable meal at Miss T’s leaves memories that last a lifetime.

Test-drive a Ferrari at Jamwest Adventures…Exciting!

Jamwest Motorsports and Adventure Park, located 28 minutes outside of Negril, is home to the largest speedway in the region. This is the only drag and circuit track in the Caribbean that offers an “arrive and drive” experience as an attraction. Experience the thrill of driving 3 sports cars on our circuit track alongside one of our professional driving instructors. You get 3 sessions of 5 laps each and you get to drive a different sports car for each session. They supply everything you need including the car, instructor, helmets and gear. Get ready for a blast!!

Other adventures available at Jamwest are: Riding ATV quad-bikes and dune-buggies, zipline racing, fun Jeep safari, horse riding at Salmon Point fishing village and Ride Along in a real Sports car. Climb in, buckle up and ride shotgun in a sports car driven by a trained driving instructor.
