Aruba, the “One Happy Island”, is well known for it’s pristine beaches and the welcoming locals who have visitors coming back for more year after year. But what always seems to surprise everyone is Aruba’s unique landscape. Aruba has way more to offer than just beautiful white beaches.
When ECO DMS hosts meeting and event planners on the island to showcase their unique offerings, there are always requests for offsite events in nature. They have done many such unique events all over the island.
One of these unique locations is the “Ayo Rock Formation”. These monolithic rock boulders were visited by the Arawak people who were the earliest settlers on the island. They came to these rocks so that they could hear incoming thunderstorms closing in on the island. They also carved paintings in rocks called petroglyphs while performing religious rites.
Today, the Ayo Rock Formation is a very popular stop during the different island tours that Aruba offers, such as UTV, Jeep Safari, Mountain Biking and so much more! What many people don’t know is that at night, this historical location can be transformed into a magical event venue where you can get a sense of the past while celebrating outdoors.
