Tibet, also known as the Roof of the World, offers fabulous monasteries, breathtaking high-altitude walks and stunning views of the world’s highest mountains. It’s a sacred place where the Buddhist faith is strong and Buddhist prayer flags are all over. Magnificent monasteries under blue skies sit halfway down snow-capped mountains or close to the pure lakes.

• Yumbu Lakang near Tsedang is known as the first Tibetan palace. It was originally built for the ‘first king of Tibet’ in the 2^nd century BC. Its location on a hilltop offers stunning views over the surrounding landscape.
